Momentum Dance Company was initially formed in 1998 by Jacquelyn Ralls Forcher, as a venue for advanced to professional ballet dancers. Ms. Forcher's long history of dance includes training at New York's School of American Ballet. She performed with Ballet West, Pacific NorthWest Ballet, and Ballet South, as well as, the Dallas and Fort Worth Ballet Companies. Long in demand as a dancer, teacher, and choreographer, Ms. Forcher saw the need for a more organized, full-time ballet company in the Irving area.
